El multimillonario Elon Musk dijo el martes que renunciará como presidente ejecutivo de Twitter Inc una vez que encuentre un sustituto, pero seguirá dirigiendo algunas divisiones clave de la plataforma de medios sociales.

"Dimitiré como consejero delegado tan pronto como encuentre a alguien lo suficientemente tonto como para aceptar el trabajo. Después de eso, sólo dirigiré los equipos de software y servidores", escribió Musk en Twitter.

La adquisición de Twitter por parte de Musk en octubre, por valor de 44.000 millones de dólares, ha estado marcada por el caos y la polémica, y algunos inversores se preguntan si está demasiado distraído para dirigir también adecuadamente su fabricante de vehículos eléctricos Tesla Inc (TSLA.O), en el que participa personalmente en la producción y la ingeniería.

Es la primera vez que Musk menciona su dimisión como jefe de la plataforma de medios sociales, después de que los usuarios de Twitter votaran a favor de que dimitiera en una encuesta que el multimillonario lanzó el domingo por la noche.

En la encuesta, el 57,5% de unos 17,5 millones de personas votaron "sí". Musk había dicho el domingo que acataría los resultados. No ha facilitado un calendario sobre cuándo dimitirá y no se ha nombrado a ningún sucesor.
